Hydrogen Confirmed as Pillar of European Competitiveness
The recently published Draghi report makes it clear: hydrogen is set to play a strategic role in Europe’s path to decarbonisation and long-term competitiveness.
The report calls for urgent action to scale clean technologies in a cost-efficient and technology-neutral way. This includes renewable energy, nuclear, bioenergy, carbon capture, and hydrogen. To make this a reality, it underlines the need for massive investment—both public and private—and highlights a major bottleneck: permitting. Simplifying and accelerating permitting procedures is essential to fully unlock the potential of clean energy across Europe.
At HY5, we strongly align with this vision. We are actively working alongside authorities to push our green hydrogen and e-methanol projects forward. We believe in transparency, collaboration, and efficiency as key enablers of real progress, ensuring that every step of the process contributes to Europe’s sustainable transition.
